Directors for Andor Season 2 have been finalized, and here are some titbits about it!

Back in late September this year when the first season of Andor was released on Disney+ no one thought it would be so good. To sum up, in a short synopsis of the first season, it was a gritty adventure espionage thriller that takes you into an oscillating journey of Cassian Andor. It was also surprising to see this series hit with other non-Star Wars fans also, who fell for its mature and political take compared to the other Star Wars film and series we have seen so far.

What started as a prequel story set during the age of the Galactic Empire and the Rebellion, the first season followed the exceptional journey of Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story which has earned a rabid fanbase. And as showrunner Tony Gilroy is gearing up for the second season of it, he announced three directors Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz, and Alonso Ruizpalacios for the series.

While in conversation with Collider, show producer Tony Gilroy shed more details about how makes are reliant on the shooting episodes in the series block method that worked for the first season. A method that involves pairing writers with the directors to focus and work on close-knit details in the screenplay, which proved to be effective for the first season. Australian director Ariel Kleiman has previously directed episodes of Yellowjackets and The Resort series, while Janus Metz directed spy thriller Chris Pine, and Thandiwe Newton starred in All The Old Knives. Director Alonso Ruizpalacios is also known for directing 2 episodes each for Narcos: Mexico starring Diego Luna and the other 2 episodes of Outer Range.

While the final date for season 2 isn’t announced yet, Tony Gilroy also confirmed that the ongoing production schedule will last till August 2023. It is expected for season 2 will spend a hefty time in post-production as Rogue One, just to get the detail and execution right. The cast includes Diego Luna in the lead role, and Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgard, Fiona Shaw, and Andy Serkis in the supporting cast. We will keep you posted on every new update on Andor, stay tuned.
